Basketball Game Preview: Principia Panthers vs. Burroughs Bombers

Principia hasn't had much luck against Burroughs recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Principia Panthers will get right back to it and host the Burroughs Bombers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Burroughs will be up against a hot Principia team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Principia took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging an 84-50 victory over Normandy. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Vikings are ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Burroughs made easy work of Lutheran North on Friday and carried off a 62-41 win. The Bombers haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Burroughs pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points over those games. As for Principia, their victory bumped their record up to 24-1.

Principia came up short against Burroughs in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 58-47. Can Principia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
