League recap: Cascade Christian runs winning streak to eight

Cascade Christian (22-7, 11-1) has won eight games in a row, 3A Southern Cascade's longest active win streak. In the past week, the Challengers won another two games, including a 6-5 victory over Grant Union. The team's hottest hitter over the past week was Justin Cheney, who had zero hits and drove in zero runs.

After a week in which it went 2-0, the Challengers jumped from 5688 to 5163 in the national rankings, the biggest increase in the league. Cascade Christian is currently No. 51 in the state of Oregon, with an overall record of 22-7.
