Sickles has gone a perfect 5-0 against Leto recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Gryphons will look to defend their home field against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Sickles has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Sickles managed to slip by Alonso the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Gryphons lost 12-5 to the Ravens last Thursday. Gryphons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Ravens since last Thursday.
Sickles saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelsie Meister, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Another was Kalyssa Austin, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Leto had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past King 18-1 on Saturday. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Isabella Lugo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February.
In other batting news, Leto got a massive performance out of Jaliyna Camacho, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Nadia Vega was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Leto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Leto's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Sickles, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Everything went Sickles' way against Leto in their previous meeting back in March, as Sickles made off with a 20-0 victory. Will the Gryphons repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
