Volleyball Recap: Campbell Spartans vs. East Paulding Raiders
Campbell lost against East Paulding back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 25-19 in the first set.
The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Campbell lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22.
Despite the defeat, Campbell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tais Silva had 12 digs and five assists.
Among those leading the charge was Kaidyn Hokanson, who had 12 digs and six assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. Summer Payne also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Campbell's loss dropped their record down to 19-12. As for East Paulding, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 26-5.
As of now, neither Campbell nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
