Baseball Recap: Altus Takes a Loss

If Altus was feeling good fresh off their 19-5 takedown of Sayre on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Guthrie Bluejays by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejays apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Jack Owenby was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

Altus has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-23-1 record this season. As for Guthrie, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-12.

As of now, neither Altus nor the Bluejays have any future games scheduled.
