Basketball Game Preview: Unicoi County Blue Devils vs. Mitchell Mountaineers

Unicoi County is 3-0 against Mitchell since December of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Unicoi County Blue Devils will head out to take on the Mitchell Mountaineers at 8:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Unicoi County strolled past Volunteer with points to spare, taking the game 68-52. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Unicoi County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jackson Simmons, who went 10 of 17 on his way to 26 points, and Kaden Cutlip, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 20 points. Cutlip's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Koda Cutlip, who posted ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Mitchell ended up a good deal behind Unicoi County on Saturday and lost 75-60. The Mountaineers haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Unicoi County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Mitchell, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Unicoi County strolled past Mitchell when the teams last played on Saturday by a score of 75-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Unicoi County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
