Volleyball Recap: Sanger Takes a Loss

Sanger came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Celina Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Sanger was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-7, 25-23.

Molly Schmucker paced Sanger's offense, picking up nine kills. Schmucker got some help from Sarah Dee and her 13 assists. Finally, Kinsy Ribinskas kept Sanger's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Sanger's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 22-17. As for Celina, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-23 record this season.

Sanger wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Gainesville on the 17th. As for Celina, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Richland on the 17th.
