Basketball Game Preview: Barnstable Red Hawks vs. New Bedford Whalers

Barnstable is 2-8 against New Bedford since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Barnstable Red Hawks will head out to take on the New Bedford Whalers at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Barnstable comes in on eight and New Bedford on five.

Last Friday, Barnstable didn't have too much trouble with Falmouth as they won 62-46.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, New Bedford beat Dartmouth 49-45 on Saturday. The 49-point effort marked the Whalers' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Barnstable's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. As for New Bedford, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Barnstable couldn't quite finish off New Bedford when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 58-55. Can Barnstable avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
