Baseball Recap: Pompano Beach Comes Up Short

Pompano Beach managed to slip by Cypress Bay the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes came up short against the Cypress Bay Lightning on Wednesday, falling 9-3. The Golden Tornadoes just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Gianni Carbone was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Pompano Beach now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Cypress Bay, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Looking ahead, Pompano Beach will face off against Cooper City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pompano Beach is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Cypress Bay, they will take on Piper at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Piper also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 10.7 runs per game.
