Nicolet has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Nicolet Knights and the Dominican Knights will round out the year against one another at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday at. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Nicolet has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season. They took their contest at home last Tuesday with ease, bagging a 91-49 win over West Bend. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-19.
David Bolden and Damon Landrum jr. were among the main playmakers for Nicolet as the former scored 20 points along with six assists and the latter scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Bolden continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamond Davis, who scored eight points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Dominican strolled past Martin Luther with points to spare two weeks ago, taking the game 95-79. Given Dominican's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Martin Luther is ranked 305th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nicolet's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for Dominican, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Nicolet barely slipped by Dominican in their previous matchup back in January, winning 65-64. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nicolet since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
