Baseball Game Preview: Bowie Bulldogs vs. Flowers Jaguars

The Bowie Bulldogs will face off against the Flowers Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bowie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.

Bowie's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Wednesday's struggle, when South River hitters got past them. The Bulldogs came up short against the Seahawks on Wednesday, falling 14-1. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Bowie saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Brown, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Brown is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 16 games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Flowers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 13-8 to Parkdale. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by exactly five runs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bowie fell to 10-1. As for Flowers, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Bowie took their win against Flowers when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 16-2 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
