Soccer Game Preview: Mulberry vs. Haines City

The Mulberry Panthers will take on the Haines City Hornets at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mulberry's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mulberry managed to keep up with Bartow until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Mulberry came up short against Bartow, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, Haines City fell victim to Lake Region and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to the Thunder. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Haines City's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Mulberry, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Mulberry was able to grind out a solid win over Haines City in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 3-1. Does Mulberry have another victory up their sleeve, or will Haines City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
