Softball Recap: Belleville Gets the Win

Belleville proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Bard Raptors 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Buccaneers have posted since May 5, 2025.

Belleville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Bard, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-15.

Belleville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against Bloomfield on the 16th. As for Bard, they will take on Montclair Kimberley Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Raptors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
