Football Recap: Caddo Mills Takes a Loss

Caddo Mills managed to slip by Sanger the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Foxes had to suffer through a 49-20 loss at the hands of the Indians. While losing is never fun, the Foxes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Indians are ranked 193rd).

When it comes to explaining why Caddo Mills lost on Friday, don't look at Tristan Hardwell. Despite the final result, he picked up 118 receiving yards and one score.

Reginald Jones continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sanger, rushing for 301 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.0 yards per carry. Jones' longest rush was for an incredible 89 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bola Ogunwuyi, who rushed for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries.

Caddo Mills has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Sanger, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Caddo Mills has already played their next game, a 48-7 victory against Gainesville on the 10th. As for Sanger, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-23 win against Van Alstyne on the 10th.
