Baseball Game Preview: Hendrick Hudson Sailors vs. Rye Garnets

Hendrick Hudson is 1-6 against Rye since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Sailors will welcome the Garnets at 1:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Hendrick Hudson is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Lakeland. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Sailors have suffered since March 27, 2024.

Meanwhile, Rye came up short against Ketcham on Wednesday, falling 16-6. The loss continues a trend for the Garnets in their meetings with the Storm: they've now lost eight in a row.
