Basketball Recap: Oak Hills Highlanders vs. Fairfield Indians
There's no place like home for the Oak Hills Highlanders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 52-47 victory over Fairfield on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Oak Hills also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Nate Riep was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Henry Maginn, who scored 15 points.
Oak Hills' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. As for Fairfield, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-11.
Oak Hills will head out on the road to face off against the Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Salle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Highlanders are ranked 116th). As for Fairfield, they will be playing at home against the Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
