The Douglas Bulldogs will challenge the Mingus Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Douglas is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.

Douglas heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took a blow against Millennium, falling 71-24. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Douglas' defeat came about despite a quality game from Julissa Quijada, who posted nine points and four steals. What's more, Quijada also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024.

Mingus has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 64-56 to Estrella Foothills last Thursday.

Despite the loss, Mingus saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Savannah Tobias dropped a double-double with 34 points and 12 rebounds. Tobias is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 52 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Alice Kinsey, who earned two points in addition to 18 boards and four steals.

Douglas' defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Mingus, their loss dropped their record down to 19-7.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Douglas has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mingus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.3 boards.
