Fans got a thrill when Grayson Dillon and Allen Ward connected against West. The longest such play in Tri-City Athletic League this season, the connection resulted in 85 yards.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Stagg beat McNair 67-13. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Delta Kings.
Stagg's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Wayne Brooks threw for 311 and 5 touchdowns and Lester Williams had 173 yards receiving. On the ground Daniel Ruffin chipped in 174 yards. Andru Jones helped Stagg's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 67 yards.
He was 13-26 with 0 interceptions.
Brooks put up the best numbers through the air as Don Norton's team topped the Eagles. Brooks' favorite target this week was Williams, who caught 6 passes for 173 yards.
The Delta Kings' Brooks and Williams have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-9 quarterback Brooks has thrown for 1,177 yards this season, while Williams has 22 catches for 566 yards. Tokay's Alex Burgos leads the league in rushing yards with 660.
The top two teams in Tri-City Athletic League will face off this week when first place Tokay takes on second place Stagg. Last week, the Tigers bested the Wolfpack, while Stagg defeated McNair.
The Delta Kings' offense has scored 342 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Tokay has allowed only 75 on the year.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Stagg's Williams goes up against Louis Franklin's team's Austin Mitchell.
Next week's game between the Delta Kings and the Tigers will feature a good passing match up as Brooks will test his arm against Mitchell's defensive ability.
