The Mayfield Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Amsterdam Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mayfield is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Things were looking good for Mayfield after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Duanesburg by a score of 3-1.

| 04/20/26 @ Berne-Knox-Westerlo | 5 |
| 04/22/26 vs Duanesburg | 7 |
Chloe Jandik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Mayfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Byrns, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Amsterdam came up short against Glens Falls on Wednesday, falling 13-4. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Trinity Lopez and Leila Brooks did some serious damage despite the final result: Lopez went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI, while Brooks went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those hits marked the first that Brooks has got this season.
Mayfield's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Amsterdam, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mayfield has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Amsterdam struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Mayfield's way against Amsterdam when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as Mayfield made off with a 19-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
