Baseball Game Preview: Village Christian Crusaders vs. San Marino Titans

The Village Christian Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the San Marino Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Marino took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Village Christian, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Village Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Riverside Prep, taking the game 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, San Marino fell victim to La Canada and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.

San Marino saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamie Bercaw, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Bercaw has posted since back in April of 2024.

San Marino moved to 9-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Village Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Village Christian skirted past San Marino 6-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2017. Will Village Christian repeat their success, or does San Marino have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
