Soccer Game Preview: Forest Park vs. Woodbridge

Forest Park is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Woodbridge is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bruins will host the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Forest Park's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Potomac Senior as they made off with a 10-0 win. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Forest Park's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Potomac Senior are ranked 304th).

Forest Park's offense was hitting Potomac Senior from everywhere, as nine different players booted in a goal. Charlotte Bobeck led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Woodbridge made easy work of Osbourn on Friday and carried off an 8-0 victory. Give Woodbridge's defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Woodbridge is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 60 goals over those ten games. As for Forest Park, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5-1.
