Recap: Classical Prep Lions vs. Seven Rivers Christian Warriors
After flying high against the Solid Rock Community Sea Shepherds last Thursday, the Classical Prep Lions came back down to earth. Classical Prep took a serious blow against Seven Rivers Christian on Friday, falling 53-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Classical Prep has scored all season.
Classical Prep struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Seven Rivers Christian pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Leading Seven Rivers Christian to victory were Annalise De beer and Jurisah Bailey. De beer dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, while Bailey scored 17 points along with nine steals. Bailey is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Houle, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Classical Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Classical Prep and Central will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Central is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Forest at 7:00 p.m. Forest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
