Basketball Game Preview: Notus Pirates vs. Gem State Adventist Academy Jaguars

The Notus Pirates will face off against the Gem State Adventist Academy Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Notus is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.

Notus might have lost, but man, Luis Vargas was a machine: he went 9 of 17 en route to 24 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Vargas has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nico Martinez, who had eight points and five boards.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Gem State Adventist Academy took on Wilder on Thursday. Gem State Adventist Academy received a blow as they fell 50-36 to Wilder. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gem State Adventist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Notus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Notus against Gem State Adventist Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-25 victory.
