Basketball Recap: Kyle Mcmullin Key Part of Team Effort in Patriots Win

There's no place like home for Clarkson/Leigh, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Oakland-Craig Knights by a score of 51-41 on Tuesday. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 67-42 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Clarkson/Leigh's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyle McMullin, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. McMullin is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tucker Matthies, who posted 19 points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Oakland-Craig still got an impressive performance from Javar Larson, who went 9-for-20 en route to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Clarkson/Leigh's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Oakland-Craig, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Clarkson/Leigh will face off against Bancroft-Rosalie at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oakland-Craig, they will take on Pender on Friday.
