Recap: Greenville Patriots vs. Taylor County Vikings
After flying high against Webster County on Friday, the Greenville Patriots came back down to earth. Greenville suffered a rough 65-45 defeat at the hands of Taylor County on Saturday. Greenville has struggled against Taylor County recently, as their game on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Greenville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shalillan Kelley, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Catavia Bennet, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Taylor County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
Greenville will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chattahoochee County at 6:00 p.m. As for Taylor County, they will head out on the road to face off against Macon County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
