Baseball Recap: Amador Valley Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Amador Valley can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Antioch Panthers with a sharp 9-2 victory.

Amador Valley got a great performance from Nikash Ramakrishnan as he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Ramakrishnan a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Aaron Solomon and Aidan Foley did most of the damage at the plate: Solomon scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Foley scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Solomon also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Gavin Whalley was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Amador Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Antioch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amador Valley will face off against Rancho Mirage at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Antioch, they will be playing at home against West at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
