Football Recap: Countryside Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Countryside Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 55-16 loss at the hands of the Merritt Island Christian Cougars. The Minutemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.

Merritt Island Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Richeson out in front who rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 39 receiving yards and one TD. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 60 yards. Merritt Island Christian also got help from Connor Angstadt, who showed off his sure hands for 96 receiving yards.

Countryside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Merritt Island Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Countryside Christian will host Florida School for the Deaf & Blind at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Minutemen's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Merritt Island Christian, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Donahue Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th.
