Football Recap: Compton Early College Skates Past Mark Keppel with Ease

After only eight points in their last matchup, Compton Early College made sure to put some points up on the board against Mark Keppel on Friday. The Rising Phoenix really took it to the Aztecs for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-21 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-8.

Despite the loss, Mark Keppel still got an impressive performance from Matthew Contreras, who threw for 172 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 71 yards and one score.

Compton Early College's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mark Keppel, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Compton Early College will face off against Glenn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mark Keppel, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bassett at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th.
