Basketball Game Preview: Jimtown Jimmies vs. South Bend Riley Wildcats

Jimtown hasn't had much luck against South Bend Riley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Jimtown Jimmies will venture away from home to square off against the South Bend Riley Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Jimtown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.

Jimtown came up into this matchup off a tough 35-point loss two weeks ago. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Fairfield by a score of 48-45 last Saturday. The Jimmies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Jimtown got top-tier performance from Branden King, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. The game was King's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Fey, who posted ten points and three steals.

Meanwhile, South Bend Riley waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They secured a 71-67 W over the Red Devils.

South Bend Riley pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Jimtown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Jimtown came up short against South Bend Riley in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 71-61. Can Jimtown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
