Basketball Recap: Pineville Comes Up Short

Pineville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Ouachita Parish Lions and fell 73-35. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Lions are ranked 17th).

Pineville's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Ouachita Parish, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pineville has already played their next matchup (against Lafayette Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Ouachita Parish will venture away from home to take on West Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Monroe knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Ouachita Parish likes a good challenge.
