Polytech barely beat Wilmington Charter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Force 13-3 on Saturday. Considering the Panthers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Polytech got a massive performance out of Emma Shelton, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Hipkins, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Polytech is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wilmington Charter, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Coming up, Polytech will head out to square off against St. Georges Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wilmington Charter, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Brandywine at 3:30 p.m.
