Basketball Recap: Lake Dallas Piles Up the Points Against Aubrey

Lake Dallas won against Van Alstyne last Saturday with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Lake Dallas Falcons breezed by the Aubrey Chaparrals to the tune of 42-15. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Chaparrals are ranked 1008th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Maizen Gillam, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lake Dallas' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Scott, who posted five points and six assists.

Lake Dallas was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aubrey only posted five assists.

Lake Dallas pushed their record up to 16-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Aubrey, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Lake Dallas has already played their next game (against Panther Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Aubrey has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Gainesville.
