Volleyball Game Preview: Casteel Colts vs. Higley Knights

Casteel has gone 8-1-1 against Higley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Colts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 12:30 p.m. Casteel is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Casteel won the last time they faced Hamilton, and Will Schneiderman did his part to make sure it happened again. The Colts walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Huskies on Tuesday thanks in part to Schneiderman, who had 29 digs and three assists. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games he's played.

Casteel had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-18, 25-13, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Higley faced Williams Field in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Knights lost 3-0 to the Black Hawks. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 27-25, 30-28.

Higley's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 20-4-2. As for Casteel, their win bumped their record up to 22-10-1.
