Basketball Game Preview: Greenville Comets vs. Breese Central Cougars

Greenville is 2-8 against Breese Central since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Greenville Comets will host the Breese Central Cougars at 7:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Greenville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell to Vandalia 75-70. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Breese Central faced O'Fallon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Breese Central took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of O'Fallon. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Greenville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Breese Central, their loss dropped their record down to 20-2.

Greenville was taken down by Breese Central 57-30 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Greenville was down 35-14.
