Basketball Game Preview: Lakota Raiders vs. New Riegel Blue Jackets

Lakota and New Riegel are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Lakota Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the New Riegel Blue Jackets at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Saturday, Lakota came up short against Gibsonburg and fell 53-40. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Golden Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, New Riegel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were dealt a 47-17 loss at the hands of Hopewell-Loudon.

Lakota now has a losing record at 9-10. As for New Riegel, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Everything came up roses for Lakota against New Riegel when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 51-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakota since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
