Washington-Marion had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they bumped up to 4-1 to make it six. They really took it to the Marian Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-33 win. With the Charging Indians ahead 44-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Washington-Marion's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Duhon, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khali Celestine, who had 14 points.

As for Marian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Marian still got an impressive performance from Lamonte Butler, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. Butler is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Drew Masule was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Washington-Marion will head out to take on Barbe at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marian, they will square off against St. Francis Episcopal at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
