Baseball Game Preview: Picayune Maroon Tide vs. Pascagoula Panthers

For the second straight game, Picayune will face off against Pascagoula. Picayune will be playing in front of their home fans against Pascagoula at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Picayune's favor as the team sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Pascagoula has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Picayune fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Pascagoula on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-6.

Parker Helton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Moreaux, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Picayune's loss dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Pascagoula, they moved to 4-10 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
