Baseball Recap: Farmington Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

While Farmington's victory against Jackson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights won by a run and slipped past the Fighting Indians 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since April 9th.

Aiden Redmond made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Tripp, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Farmington's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Jackson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Farmington will challenge Ste. Genevieve at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 3.8, the Dragons 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Jackson, they will take on Fox at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
