Baseball Recap: Hamilton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mason, Hamilton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Princeton Vikings 6-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Big Blue as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Peyton Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Hamilton is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Austin Payne was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Noah Davidson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Hamilton's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Princeton, they moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Hamilton will host Talawanda at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Princeton will be paying especially close attention to the Big Blue's game: after the Big Blue face off against the Brave, they'll take on Princeton again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
