The Snake River Panthers will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on the Sugar-Salem Diggers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Snake River is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after opening their season on the road. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 22-6 to Homedale.

Meanwhile, Sugar-Salem entered their tilt with Timberlake on Saturday with 11 consecutive wins dating back to last season but they'll enter their next game with 12. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 65-0 on the road. The Diggers pushed the score to 51-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers had no chance of recovering from.

Dawson McInelly was a one-man wrecking crew for Sugar-Salem as he rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also caught a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Jack Gardner, who threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sugar-Salem was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 218 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 164 rushing yards in 12 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Snake River was taken down by Sugar-Salem 52-14 when the teams last played back in November of 2019.
