Soccer Game Preview: Morristown-Hamblen East vs. Cocke County

The Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes will take on the Cocke County Fighting Cocks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a classic East v. West duel when Morristown-Hamblen East took on Morristown-Hamblen West last Tuesday. Morristown-Hamblen East never let Morristown-Hamblen West get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Hurricanes were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Cocke County made sure to put some goals up on the board against Cosby on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over the Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Fighting Cocks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

The victory made it two in a row for Morristown-Hamblen East and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those two matches. As for Cocke County, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Everything went Morristown-Hamblen East's way against Cocke County in their previous meeting back in April of 2017, as Morristown-Hamblen East made off with a 12-0 victory.
