Baseball Game Preview: William Tennent Panthers vs. Springfield Township Spartans

For the second straight game, William Tennent will face off against Springfield Township. The Panthers will square off against the Spartans at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Springfield Township hit William Tennent with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Panthers have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

For Springfield Township's part, Robert Hartman made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Hartman was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Owen Hastings was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Springfield Township was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as William Tennent only posted a batting average of .222.
