Preview: Beaufort Eagles vs. Bluffton Bobcats

Beaufort has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Bluffton Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Beaufort and Bluffton are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.

Last Wednesday, Beaufort was the victim of a rough 73-47 defeat at the hands of Summerville. While losing is never fun, Beaufort can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Summerville is ranked third).

Meanwhile, Bluffton strolled past Beaufort with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-38. That looming 54-38 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Bluffton yet this season.

Bluffton found their leader in underclassman Carnell Warren, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Warren is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maciah Hamilton, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Beaufort bumped their record down to 4-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bluffton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Beaufort ended up a good deal behind Bluffton in their previous meeting on Tuesday, losing 54-38. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Warren, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Now that Beaufort knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
