Baseball Game Preview: Orange Panthers vs. Anaheim Colonists

The Orange Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Anaheim Colonists at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Saturday, Orange came up short against Kennedy and fell 8-5.

Ethan Giraldo was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Giraldo was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Gogh Nakagawa and Myles Kennedy stepped up to the plate in a big way. Nakagawa scored a run while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances, while Kennedy scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Anaheim's offense. They fell 5-0 to Estancia on Friday. The Colonists haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Angel Rojas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.

Anaheim's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Orange, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9-1 record this season.

Orange might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Anaheim in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
