Basketball Recap: Mooresville Comes Up Short

Mooresville was the 52-31 winner over Bloomington North when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Mooresville Pioneers fell just short of the Bloomington North Cougars by a score of 43-40 on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Mooresville lost, don't look at Randee Garringer. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. Garringer has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenzie Holtzclaw, who posted eight points.

Mooresville's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Bloomington North, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Mooresville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Columbus East at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Bloomington North also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against New Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
