Basketball Game Preview: Tradition Prep Pirates vs. Pine Knights

The Tradition Prep Pirates will head out to take on the Pine Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tradition Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Pine will be coming in after a defeat.

Tradition Prep will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Port St. Lucie, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Tradition Prep sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-54 win over Port St. Lucie on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since December 28, 2023.

Tradition Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aydan Fields, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Chevres, who posted 13 points along with eight assists and six boards.

Meanwhile, Pine came up short against Jensen Beach on Tuesday and fell 71-59. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 13-9 in the first quarter.

This is the second loss in a row for Pine and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Tradition Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
