Preview: Sandwich Indians vs. Plano Reapers
Sandwich is 8-2 against Plano since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Sandwich Indians will be playing at home against the Plano Reapers at 7:00 p.m. Sandwich has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21.
Last Wednesday, Sandwich ended up a good deal behind Woodstock North and lost 48-32.
Plano posted their biggest win since December 4, 2023 on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Harvard as Plano made off with a 45-24 win. The squad ran away with 34 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Josie Larson was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Plano's points. Luniah Gilford was another key contributor, scoring two points along with nine rebounds.
Sandwich has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for Plano, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Sandwich suffered a grim 48-27 defeat to Plano in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Larson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Now that Sandwich knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
