Basketball Recap: Bryson Milledge's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chapelgate Christian Academy over Concordia Prep

Chapelgate Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 67-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Concordia Prep Saints. The Yellowjackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Saints earlier this season, when they won 67-60.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryson Milledge, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 16 points. What's more, Milledge also posted a 80% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Landen Custis was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Chapelgate Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concordia Prep only racked up nine assists.

It was another big night for Noah Robinson, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine steals for Concordia Prep. Robinson is becoming a predictor of Concordia Prep's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 8-12 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jaylen Madden, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Chapelgate Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-21. As for Concordia Prep, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12.

Chapelgate Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 74-54 loss against St. Mary's on the 15th. Concordia Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
