Basketball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Andrew Jackson Volunteers, falling 76-42. The Capitals lost against the Volunteers in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 49-38 score last time.

Andrew Jackson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zeke Clyburn led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jy'Kevius Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Andrew Jackson, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Columbia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-52 loss against Westminster Schools of Augusta on the 28th. As for Andrew Jackson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-35 victory against Great Falls on the 28th.
