Soccer Game Preview: Godley vs. Venus

Godley is 0-7 against Venus since January of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Godley Wildcats will be playing at home against the Venus Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Godley is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mineral Wells. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 658th, while the Rams are ranked 323rd).

Meanwhile, Venus' game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Kemp by a score of 2-1. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Godley's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Venus, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1.

Godley suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Venus in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Godley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
